Certificate of Insurance for event [Note: All pilots must maintain an active $1 million UAS-specific liability insurance policy. Please note. This policy must explicitly cover UAS operations. General liability insurance does not automatically include UAS coverage. You must have it added through your umbrella or an additional coverage endorsement that clearly shows this on the insurance you submit to us. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming UCSD is not required. However, proof of the $1M policy must be submitted in advance for approval. Flights without valid UAS insurance will not be approved.]

Any drone operation at SIO for events is considered commercial if the pilot is receiving any form of compensation, and/or intends to use the footage for marketing, promotional, or business purposes. Due to safety and risk, recreational flights will not be allowed at events.
